Update
by admin on Apr.23, 2009, under Uncategorized
Today my mom talked to the doctor, and they said my dad might have a blood clot in his lung, which is not good. But last we heard the blood clot was taken care of, he was stable, and his blood pressure was rising, which is also good. The last couple days the doctors and nurses said that they were trying to keep his blood pressure from falling, and if its rising, that sounds like a good sign. Hopefully I will be back at school on Sunday, just in time to get some shit done. Gotta Dynamics test to take, a Modern test to make up, labs to catch up on, retest for work next semester, and finals to study for. Should be AWESOME!.

Today my dad had surgery, to try and rebuild his colon, Around 3 o clock, I recieved a call from my mom that he did not do well in surgey, and that a friend of her’s would pick me up in charleston and take me down to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. I’m at the hospital now, sitting in a waiting room with Alan’s laptop, my mom and grandma asleep beside me. The doctor said that the chemo and radiation destroyed my dad’s colon, and had to remove what was left after the first surgery he had to remove the cancer. They said he might make it, he might not, so all we can do now is wait.

The Death of Ebaum’s World
by admin on Feb.01, 2009, under Random
eBaum’s World seems to have been reorganized by its owner ZVUE, and closed its main office and canned most of their staff. Things like this happen, and they suck, but I think ZVUE could have offered the previous owners of eBaums World a little more respect.
“He then proceeded to tell us to stay put while he searched through everyone’s belongings and files, where he took all computers, office equipment and files. This would have been fine if we had been given the chance to remove all personal files on our own computers.” – Site run by former eBaum’s World employees
This is a damn shame. I hope that, in time, the new eBaum site experiences as much success as the original.
Pure Pwnage Withdrawl
by admin on Feb.01, 2009, under Random
The new Pure Pwnage episode will likely take longer to roll out than previous, do to the tragic death of Troy Dixon, but I’m still anticipating it none the less. Even though there is no new PP episode out yet though, you can still get some sweet Dave action at www.proatcooking.com Dave is a cook, and he is an asshole to his assistants, and it is freaking hilarious. I recommend that the whole 3 people that even know this website exists, go and watch that shit ASAP.

Warner Music Group Mutes Youtube Videos
by admin on Feb.01, 2009, under Music
For some time now, Warner Music Group has been muting videos on youtube that contain unauthorized music in them. I could understand this being acceptable if MOST of the people on youtube were using youtube as a means to pirate music (which they obviously aren’t).
If WMG is going to mute youtube video’s, they might as well start making people ask permission before adding music to a parents home video of their child, or someone who records a blog which happens to have some WMG music playing in the background. This is way out of line, and serves no purpose, other than to anger the multi-million person fanbase youtube has. And what I find bizarre, there seems to be no consistency to the video’s being muted.
Just today, I was watching videos of Italian drummer Andrea Vadrucci (also known as vadrum. He’s in a fantastic band Cosmica, and has several video’s on youtube demonstrating his fantastic skill. One such video (not uploaded by Vadrucci) link is a vidoe of him playing along ot the song Glass Prison by Dream Theater. There are several video’s uploaded by Vadrucci, some with milti-million views, and a few of him drumming to other Dream Theater songs. Why mute the lesser known video? When there are others that are being viewed much more often. (I apologize if this gets any of vadrum’s video’s muted).
WMG has made a huge mistake that has brought on the wrath of the internet. Muting video’s that contain their music could potentially cause youtube to lose potentially hundreds of thousands of video’s, and continue to enrage its users.

Obama Wins!
by admin on Nov.05, 2008, under Uncategorized
Well, this years election is over, and Obama came out being the winner. When I met Obama in Champaign, back when he had just started his term as Senator. I could see presidential potential in him, but I figured he would run, at the earliest, in 2012. Oh well, I’m glad he one. He might not be the best choice for president…what with his lack of experience, but he’s a far better choice than McCain.
(sorry, I got into a rant after this)
It drives me CRAZY when people say they are voting for a candidate (usually republican) because of their religion. Anyone can say they are against abortion, or against homosexual marriages on paper, but when it comes to the time to act, they’re not going to do a damn thing. Its a known fact, that Republicans usually are against abortion and gay marriages. As far as I can remember, not once in my lifetime has a Republican made any drastic efforts to outlaw either. Its far to tarnishing to their reputation to make an huge effort on abortion or gay marriages. Which seem to be two gigantic factors that pull the religious group in. The president is not going to change either of these issues, ever. So you might as well vote for the person who is going to do a better job getting our economy out of the gutter.
It just so happened, that Obama was the guy for this job. If McCain got into office two things could happen. 1) We would stay in Iraq longer and Health Care and Social Security would likely be privatized. And the economy would likely keep going downhill.
2) McCain dies, leaving Palin in charge. Which might be even worse, since she seems to be oblivious to the fact that she’s a dumb ass.
Mattoon Illinois gets some publicity
by admin on Oct.02, 2008, under joob?

This is kinda funny. Cracked Magazine pokes fun at the 1930’s people of Mattoon Illinois for freaking out about some mad gasser, which was probably just made up by those peoples wild imaginations. Lets face it, you live in the middle of freakin rural Illinois, what else are you gonna do.
Wardog
by admin on Oct.01, 2008, under Music
Today, myself and Dan discovered something awesome. A 90’s metal band known as Wardog. They have a great sound to them. The band broke up in 2000, which is a shame, because I could have seen them getting pretty popular today, with their old school sound, in the new school age.
The video is from the website Metal Video a good place to find some new bands you may not have heard of.
update: So, apparently Wardog became Razer sometime in the 2000’s. Razer is okay, but it lacks the thrashy sound that Wardog had. I would rather have seen Wardog die in 2000, than turn into something that in comparison, is as bad as Razer.
